Schismatoglottis roseospatha

When I first got this plant, I was in total amazement. It isn't the prettiest plant around, but it is very fascinating. Definitely one of my favorites!

This plant is not very large. Each lance-like leaf is only about 1-2" long. The rhizome is about 1/6" (5mm). The growing tip turns a very pretty reddish/pink/orange color. Growth is excruciatingly slow. I have had this plant for almost 2 years and it hasn't even doubled in growth. Perhaps my tank parameters are not 100% suited for it. The friend who sent me the plant also mentioned that it does well emersed (like some anubias).

Other than the slow growth, I find this plant extremely hardy.
